The ILTA is pleased to announce Phase One of the International Laser Tag Museum to be housed in Louisville, KY. The ILTA museum will be a free admission location, with a positively focused reflection of the laser tag industry spanning 20+ years. The laser tag museum is scheduled to open October 15, 2005.
Lazer Blaze of Louisville, KY has
expanded their facility and has donated over 30 feet of continuous
wall space for seven large display cabinets. The cabinets are
being manufactured by Creative Works and paid for at cost through
the generous donation of Lazer Blaze.
The museum was originally conceived five years ago in June 2000 and the ILTA immediately started archiving posters, manuals, flyers, brochures, informational video tapes, pins, patches, bumper stickers and other related items for the industry.
The ILTA offered a facility near Indianapolis, IN the opportunity to host the museum but the owner declined and Jack Turner, owner of Lazer Blaze jumped at the chance to be the host facility. This free admission museum will allow Lazer Blaze the ability to market educational field trips to schools in his area.
The ILTA will be expanding the museum in phases with Phase One being the display and historical timeline for the indoor commercial laser tag industry. Phase Two will look at the military history of laser tag. Phase Three will examine and display the home and outdoor recreational products. Phase Four will chart and track the development of the outdoor commercial laser tag market.
Further, the ILTA will be developing a virtual visit of the laser tag museum for any person with internet connection to enjoy and learn about this great industry.
The ILTA has sent letters to all of the indoor laser tag equipment manufacturers requesting donations and contributions of non-functioning laser tag packs as well as other materials deemed relevant by the manufacturer. It is hoped that the industry will unify for the greater good of this purpose.
