The most important document that you will ever write is this one. This single document can literally generate hundreds of thousands of dollars if properly prepared.

All business plans contain at least these seven (7) elements-

  • Table of Contents
  • Executive Summary
  • The Company
  • The Market
  • The Products/Services
  • Sales and Promotions
  • Finances

Writing a business plan is a fairly complex and detailed undertaking. Numerous books and videotapes have been created just on this topic. It would be impossible for the ILTA to cover all aspects on this single webpage.

There is some software available that may assist in writing the basic outline for the business plan. The ILTA offers a detailed 5 page business plan outline in our [Resource Guide].

While there is no standard format for preparing a business plan for a laser tag facility or attraction, the ILTA has developed a unique package called the [Business Plan Package]. This document contains four (4) elements including our:

  • Business Analysis Document, the single most comprehensive document for this industry. It gathers all of the latest facts and figures necessary for the most current and well-prepared business plan possible.
  • Sample Business Plan;
  • a SBA Approved Business Plan,
  • an original business plan that received SBA approval for over $400,000.

To make preparing your business plan easier, we include the Business Analysis Document and the Sample Business Plan on a CD in Microsoft Word and .TXT format for easy importing and text editing.

This can be ordered separately or as part of the Developer Membership. Further, the ILTA offers a free service to its Developer Members- Business Plan Review. Over the past 6 years we have read and reviewed hundreds of business plans for stand-alone facilities as well as attractions in family entertainment centers. Often we catch errors that may cause the business plan to be rejected by banks, loan officers, government organizations and other financiers. After allowing the plan to be corrected and resubmitted to the ILTA we can include a letter stating that the information is correct and within industry standards. This does not guarantee financing but we have helped over 100 facilities open after reviewing their business plans.

Here is an unsolicited quote that the ILTA received on August 5, 2002:

    "Thank you ILTA,
Just a note to let you know I received package today, Monday, August 5th.
Thus far, I am impressed with the Business Plan Package.
I will contact you with any questions.

    Thanks again,

    Mark J. Rozmus, CPA
